Matric results 2026
2026 results release
Status: expected mid-January 2027, not yet confirmed. When the Department of Basic Education announces the date, we will update this page. In recent years the Minister has announced outcomes in mid-January and candidates have collected statements the following day.
How to get NSC results
- School or exam centre - Collect your statement of results from the school or centre where you wrote. This is the primary channel recommended by the DBE.
- DBE website - When online access opens for the release, results are published on the DBE NSC results page. Confirm the exact URL and opening time in the Department's release notice.
- SMS, USSD and newspapers - In previous years some provinces and media outlets have also published results via SMS, USSD or newspaper listings. These are not always offered every year - only use channels named in the official 2026 release announcement.
DBE urges candidates to get statements from their school/centre and notes online availability on the Department website for each release. SMS/USSD/newspaper channels vary by year and province.
IEB results
IEB results are issued by the IEB through your school. Ask your school for the collection date and any online access the IEB provides for that sitting. For IEB exam support see our IEB hub.
